I am a good candidate because:
My focus in practice has been myopia control for almost a decade, with about 1000 patients, out of which more than 300 with orthok. At the same time, every year I give lectures on the subject while participating in national medical congresses on general ophthalmology, contact lenses and pediatric ophthalmology. In addition, during my current service I organized in 2017 and 2018 "Myopia Day" in Romania, with 250 participants from all over the country at each meeting. Consequently, I hope that I am a good and experienced vector in spreading myopia control among doctors, which in Romania are currently the main actors in the field.

OLGA SELINA, Ophtalmologist

Section:
Russia & CIS.
I am a good candidate because:
For 8 years I was the head of the contact vision correction department at the main research center of Russia: Helmholtz National Medical Research Center of Eye Diseases of the Ministry of Health of Russia. In 2016, I defended my Ph.D. thesis on complex contact lenses. I am the author of over 10 scientific papers on this topic. I am a member of the Association of Ophthalmologists and the Society of Ophthalmologists of Russia. I am an assistant at the Department of Continuing Medical Education and conduct training courses on the selection of contact lenses and myopia control. For the past 11 years I have been working in the development of Russian contact lens vision correction and orthokeratology. With the support of many high-calibre professionals, I promote training courses and technical support for young practitioners, ophthalmologists and optometrists. In addition, I am engaged in studying and dissemination of myopia treatment modalities, related to myopia control. I consider it my mission to promote the concepts and values of EurOK in Russia and neighbouring countries, as I feel compelled to expand myopia control on a larger scale in those countries. I also believe that there is a need to strengthen medical personnel training in orthokeratology and promote case studies’ development, which enables effective and safe myopia control.
